Fungus on plum and pear trees

We have a fungus on both our plum and pear trees and wondered if anyone can tell us what it is and how we could treat it. Also could it be harmful to the fruit? Many thanks in advance for your help.

    How big is your plum tree? I am seriously thinking of buying one and planting in my front garden
