This is what I have done in my garden.I made it so you can walk round in a figure of eight,rather than a straight line, which makes the garden feel bigger.
Another option would be to use blue shades - greeny blue leaf colours and blue flowers - in the far section, because blue is 'recessive so tends to look further away

Thanks. I've noticed in the past that red objects sometimes seem to jump up off the "page" at you, though I confess that I didn't see any difference between the red and blue rectangles on that page!

Yes curving path, and it DOES have to lead somewhere, a special pot, statue, even a seat the other end.plant something tall it doesnt have to be dense, maybe tall grass, just past the patio area,so you cant see all the way down the garden
