They had problems with the neighbours on the other side, also they are away a lot so are able to check on their property all the time. I can understand it but when you receive a text from them whist they were in Turkey asking why I was talking to the neighbours they had fallen out with as they had seen me on camera it takes the buiscuit
I have to say that the garden issues that are coming up, of late, on the forum are not so much to do with the problems of trampolines, cctv etc, but more a problem with psycho neighbours.
We considered getting security cameras after having the rear window of our car smashed whilst it was parked on our drive. When we thought a little deeper, that was the only incident we had experienced in nearly 30 years in our house. If it's 30 years until the next incident I will be well past caring!
good evening, I have read many problems with dividing fences which don't seem to solve my problem so please can anyone help with this one.
We have lived in our bungalow for 2 years, our next door neighbours persuaded the previous owner to let them take down her 1.8mtr fence and build a brick wall on their own property. the problem is we live on quite a slope which means that the wall was built lower down the slope leaving our property exposed with very little privacy. To compound the situation our neighbours have installed cctv cameras that completely overlook our property back and front. Our neighbours are in the process of moving so my question is are we within our rights to put back a 1.8 meter fence on our boundary line which will appear much higher on their side so we can have some privacy.
If they won’t negotiate then contact the council and the ICO (Information Commissioners Office). Report the breach of privacy to the ICO.
Yes, check the deeds. Available online at the Land Registry if you don't have a copy, but there may be no mention of boundary divisions. I suppose the obvious answer is to put a 2 ft trellis on top of the wall, then grow something dense up it. This would give you more privacy, not upset anyone, and be within the law.
Thank you for your comments. As I mentioned it is quite clear that our boundary fence was taken down and neighbours put a brick wall on their land in front of where our fence was taken down. Our deeds show that the fence was the boundary and the responsibility of our property. My question really is can I put back the fence which was the boundary line between the properties.
