@Perki Thanks for the ideas. Final positions are not settled yet so I will keep moving stuff around until I'm 100% satisfied.
The Choisya is a tricky one. I did have it in another location and like yours it didn't exactly thrive. I'm going to give it one more go in this spot though. Having a relatively large evergreen on that corner is going to provide a good screen between the seating area and the house. Just going to make sure that I use lots of grit when planting.
@Borderline I was as restrained as I could be. Only a couple of purchase from Great Dixter plant fair:
2 x Geranium phaeum 'Samobor' courtesy of Rapkyns; and 3 x Corydalis 'Korns Purple' courtesy of Beth Chatto
The Corydalis is a really interesting variety. Virtually nothing about it online but the guys from Beth Chatto assured me that it had been great in their trials.
Looks like a nice day out. I still haven't been down to Great Dixter yet. I’m told to bring packed lunch. Hopefully Beth Chatto this year though. Corydalis variety sounds interesting. Look forward to seeing your plants grow.

The gardens are fantastic even at this time of year. In summer the plants run riot and spill out onto the paths. It's like being in the jungle and you can lose yourself for hours.
What a difference a couple of months make. In March my new borders were under water and the garden looked a barren and unforgiving place. Fast forward to May and it's like a different world (the new turf helps!)
Thanks for the update 1634 Racine, looking forward to seeing how your plants grow through the season. Definitely looking more lush and the new turf helps to lift your beds & borders. That little seating area has changed completely, now looking very inviting!

Thanks Borderline. The seating area is perfect at the moment. The honeysuckle is particularly good this year.
Star performers in the new border so far are the Corydalis 'Korn Purple' and the Astilbe at the bottom of the picture. They are enjoying having their feet in the swamp!
