Planting ideas from example images?

glasgowdanglasgowdan Posts: 632
Does anyone know where I can look at examples of borders with a list of plants that are in them? I am not very creative and have some new borders to plant and feel if I just do my usual thing and plant what I like the look of it won't all come together very well! It's nothing worthy of getting a garden designer in.

Gardeners' World magazine often has designs for borders with lists of plants.   Try looking for back copies in the library.   While you're on check out gardening design books and other gardening magazines.

If your library can get you a copy of this it's an excellent book for "bed" plans. It's ancient but I had mine out at the week-end as it gives little pencil drawn maps with a key to the planting. Different heights and conditions, long beds, formal beds... brilliant!
