Hiya, Looking for a bit of help identifying this shrub please. Whatever it is, would it be happy to be transplanted to a different area of the garden? Obviously a heavy bit of digging involved though! Thank you in advance
Thanks guys. Yes I agree it would be very hard to move it successfully. The lady whose garden the shrub is growing in wants it taken out, as the whole bed is going to be made into lawn. This particular shrub is right in the way of the nice view from her new kitchen window so either way it has to come out. Was hoping it would be possible to save and plant it somewhere else, especially if it is a good looking plant!
I haven't got any photos of the mature leaves, this is how it was looking today.
It's bugging me not to know the name of it! Someone suggested a sorbus but I'm not convinced?
Shot in the dark but have a look at prunus cerasifera nigra. We had one in our garden which unfortunately died last year but the leaves were very similar. As others say, very difficult to tell at this stage though.

I don't think I'd try moving it ... it's quite a size and a pretty mature plant and it'll have lots of spreading roots.
