Alpine Gardening

Hello, 

I live in the French Alps. We have snow each winter starting anytime from November and ending, the latest mid April. 
What gardening tasks (if any) can I do while there is still some snow on the ground?

    Hello @alimahermail and welcome to the forum😃.

    There isn't much to do during winter with snow on the ground apart from maybe plan ahead for the coming spring.
    The most I've done this week in the northwest of the UK is potting on some indoor grown seedlings.

    If you have a frost free, covered area where you can sow some hardy seeds you could get ahead with that as long as you have space also for the pricking out and potting on.  Talk to your neighbours about what they do and when in order to get the most out of the short growing season.

    Hi, Yes I thought this was the case. I am sowing seeds indoors at the moment but with limited space I can't get too crazy or my boyfriend will start to complain.

    Since you are in the Alps, don't forget to go alpine. Small plants (Gentianaceae, Asteraceae, Violaceae, Saxifragaceae, Campanulaceae) that grow in nooks and crevices in walls and rocks usually bloom the following year (with exceptions like violas, aster, prunella), but they are persistent and will probably self-seed. I think you still have time for trying, look at these
