Fritillaria Imperialis

Market BoyMarket Boy Posts: 101
In 2016 I planted 6 x Fritillaria Imperialis which I purchased from Kokenhough in Holland.
In 2017 3 flowered and were wonderful. The other 3 rotted and disappeared.
This year 2 have begun to grow and are looking good. One only has 2 x what only look like off sets. The other 2 have at least 3 what look like off sets around each main stem.
Can I dig up the bulbs after they have flowered and grow on the off sets.
Any ideas or advice would be appreciated.

Yes, but maybe best to wait till the foliage has completely died down before separating the bulbs.  One tip - when you plant them again, put them on their side.  This stops water draining into and sitting in the hollow part at the top of the bulb and which leads to rotting.   I was given that advice by a wee Flemish chap who had his own personal Keukenhof near Lier in Belgium and grew hundreds of frit imps.
