    Hello Ian .... not a nice end to your holiday  :'(:'(

    I've spoken to our home insurers ... and they told me that if the claim was progressed through them, their recovery team would try and get any excess I paid back for me ... but they couldn't guarantee anything.
    Their advice was to insist that it goes through the guy's car insurance. I've done this and ... so far ... they seem to have accepted liability. However, I think the final bill is going to run into several thousand ... so I expect further hassle.
