Liatris Spicata

I have just received some bulbs in the post, among them are approx. 10 of these are Liatris Spicata, advertised as attractive to bees.  I say bulbs - they could be corms, but I thought Liatris were perennial plants, not bulbs or corms - am I right/wrong or is the labelling incorrect?

    They are perennial GD, but grow from corms.  I have a few clumps and they are good do-ers .....and the bees do love them 🐝

    Liatris spicata is the only flower spike where the flower open from the top down.

    I've put some of these corms in at the base of the clematis to keep the bottoms shaded ( ha ha) also they are great for the bees.🐝🐞

    They come very easily from seed too.

    I grew those from seeds.
