Trellis cover Jasmine or clematis

I would like a quick growing climber, South West facing to cover a trellis.  I like delicate white flowers and was thinking Jasmine or a clematis.  Any ideas for a quick growing easy to maintain Clematis?  I liked Clematis Paniculata but understood it does not suit our climate and so not hardy.  I have poor soil at the base of the fence so any ideas of planting it etc.. much appreciated.

    Depending on where you are, jasmine can be a bit tender too whereas there are all sorts of clematis hardy down to -25C.  However, clematis are hungry plants and won't do well in poor soil unless you improve it with lashings of well-rotted manure and garden compost to increase fertility as well as texture.

    This is clematis Paul Farges, also known as Summer Snow, just plant and stand back, no need to feed or mollycoddle, just butcher it hard in Spring.  Also picture of it over our garden shed last Summer

    Richard the Summer Snow clematis is beautiful - not one that I had noticed before - it does look very lively - how old is it?

    Thanks It's quite difficult to get hold of.  Have found one place a 2 litre pot about 100cm.  Would like something bigger.  Assuming I could go with above sizing?

    They also like their heads in the sun and their feet in shade.

    Not all of them NB.  Some actually do better with shade on the heads and some don't mind shade but are happy in sun.

    Thanks It's quite difficult to get hold of.  Have found one place a 2 litre pot about 100cm.         The height of the plant you purchase is not relevant, the important part is the root system

    I have a final question how close to the fence can I plant a 2 litre pot clematis?
