Don’t know Fishy, I rarely watch it, didn’t watch any last year when they went over to the hour long programme.
What annoys me with Monty, when he’s planting something out, he takes it straight from pot to ground, Ive never seen him tease out roots, I assume he doesn’t have time on the show and takes them out afterwards, or one of his gardener will.

Paul, that’s Endsleigh Gardens, it’s on the buy one get one free tickets.
If you’re ever  in Devon, do go for a walk around, it’s very nice.

Depends how hot your conservatory is, and whether the plants are fully hardy, mine is north facing and at the moment its 10d ouside and 24d in the conservatory, its a bungalow, so sun in the roof, it got up to 27d the other day, as they are perens I would get them outside asap, I have really tiny plug plants in a heated greenhouse, otherwise they go into an unheated one, the compost is also in there so it doesnt shock them.Depnds also where you live, what is your mini greenhouse made of?
  • Hi Nanny beach
im in the Midlands, and like you, my conservatory is roasting! I’ve had the double doors open today.
I made an executive decision to plant the perennials out today... my mini greenhouse where they have been since receipt last week is only wood & plastic glass, and they were starting to shoot... it’s not going to drop below freezing this week here. I thought the best way for me to learn would be trial and error.. so fingers crossed! Had a beautiful morning in the garden if nothing else :)

The disadvantage of planting them out so small is that they may get slug chewed as soon as you plant them,  they do better if you get them to a big pot size then plant out.
They don’t need to be kept in the  Greenhouse if it’s getting too hot, just put the pots somewhere sheltered, as you say, you’ll learn by trial and error. It’s really is the only way, it’s how we all learn.

You would have been better to pot them on, I am surprised they didnt come with planting instructions, as Lyn says they may get eaten, but  they are more likely to survie if they are bigger, anyway.

I have a feeling that Parker’s say to plant them out as soon as you receive them, I think a lot of people do do that then say Parker’s plants are rubbish, or they all disappeared,   they really should put those instructions on these tiny plugs.

  • The only instructions included were a random booklet talking about different types of plants. Oh well I live and learn... I’ll order some more to pot up!
