Green manure

KeenOnGreenKeenOnGreen Posts: 1,831
Our green manure, planted last Autumn, is thick and healthy.  Should we dig it in now to our veggie patch, or leave it a bit longer?  Is it too late to plant more green manure in the veggie patch, given that we will want to start planting veg in the next few months?

I would dig it in now or you won't be ready in time to start planting.

If it is very thick you might want to strim or chop it up first it will help it breakdown quicker. If there is a lot of excess growth you can put some on the compost heap. Ideally thrash it into the ground with a rotary cultivator.
