Cutting back Passionflower

Hi,

Apologies for my very basic knowledge of gardening! I have cut back this passionflower on a few occasions, but it is in a sorry-looking state at the moment. Could anyone advise me on whether it is a good time to cut this back at this point in the year, and if so, how hard?

Thanks in anticipation.

Trim off any shoots going in an unwanted direction now as well as anything which looks frost damaged.  Leave the rest until if finishes flowering and then trim as per the RHS advice, here.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
