What do you do with mole hills?

Hi all 😊 Please can you advise what you do with mole hills?  Do you just rake the soil over?

Yes. I've heard people say they use the earth for other things as it's nice and fine, but it's the same earth as it was before and if you remove it you will end up with hollows. Rake and resow.

At some times of year my garden starts to resemble the Somme.
I use the hills as part of a potting mix.

But won't the earth have weed seeds in it? And if you keep removing the mole hills then won't you get hollows in the lawn?

As the earth is what has been excavated from the tunnels underneath, in theory if you remove the hill then re-seed the top the mole will simply carry on in it's tunnel & not push more up. As others have said it is supposed to be very good in a potting mix.  Mind you real life does not always match the theory.
