Cheapest coir and vermiculite

Wilko has always been the cheapest supplier of coir and vermiculite, but today I bought a  5 litre bag of very fine vermiculite suitable for covering seeds for £1 in…..PoundLAND. They also had plentiful stocks of coir bricks, £1 to make an estimated 10 litres - this is equal to Wickes £4 for 40 litres, (10p per litre) and easier to carry. However, in PoundWORLD they are selling £1 bricks to make 14 litres, about 7p a litre.  Hope this info helps. I am going to start some of my flower seeds tomorrow since the weather seems to have turned for the better at last in the NW.

Nice find there Johnny 👍.  I've bought coir in the poundshops before but never seen vermiculite on sale.

Thanks for the heads up 😊.

Seriously cheap. I paid slightly less on EBay but then I had to buy 100L!
Alas my local Poundland has very limited gardening stuff so far, but I'll keep an eye out for the coir

I have been using the Poundland vermiculite for a couple of years now and it will as just as good wilkos or the more expensive garden centre stuff.
i don’t think the coir bricks work out cheaper than wilkos so I stick with buying the bigger bag for £4 from them and just chip off a bit as needed.
