Can anyone help ID this rose?

  • Hardly any perfume (as far as I recall).  I don't mind as it's appearance outweighs the lack of perfume.

The nearest one to it appears to be Ellen Wilmott

  • Ellen Wilmott is a possibility - though I don't think that the stamens of mine turn orange/red like those in the PB's photos.  However, I can see I might have bought a plant called Ellen as it's a family name.

  • It's been over a year since I posted, asking if anyone could help to ID this rose. Since then I've contacted David Austin Rose, Peter Beales & the RHS. No one seems to know.

A few days ago we decided to move it, and when it came up - there was the label - buried deep amongst the roots! So now I know!

The thing is - this is a plastic label - and it's probably been buried in the soil for 12-15 years (look at the price!) and it's still completely intact.  No wonder there's a drive on to get us to use less plastic!
