What do I do with propogated Hydrangeas?

I managed to propogate some hydrangeas in autumn, they are still pretty spindly, but they have roots and new buds. Do I plant out in spring or upgrade to a larger pot? There's 4 cuttings in one pot just now. Got them outside when weather is ok and in porch when below zero.

I would upgrade each one to its own pot and grow it on until it has a decent root system and then plant it out or swap it according to your inclination.

I agree with Obelixx. I planted out a little cutting, thinking it would be happier in the soil and the slugs ate every scrap of leaf and the soft bits of stem, too!

  • That's what I was worried about Posy! I'll upgrade the pot instead!
