Ephemeral Weeds
Hello everyone
I’m after a bit of help. I’m currently studying for a RHS Level 2 course in propagation and development and my current assignment is about pests, diseases and weeds. I have been asked to provide 5 examples of ephemeral weeds but am really struggling to find 5 examples. I already have groundsel, hairy bittercress and chickweed can anyone else give me another couple of examples? Thank you in advance.

That annoying little red leaved Oxalis corniculata
does that fit the bill?
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Capsella bursa-pastoris (shepherd's purse), Poa annua
What do you mean by 'ephemeral'? Do you mean annuals or perennials that disappear once they've flowered and return next the year like celandine?

Ephemeral weeds are the ones that can go through several lifecycles in one growing season. Chickweed, bittercress and groundsel are the usual examples for the RHS. I find that I now have their Latin names going round and round my head like some sort of incantation whenever I see one!
