Hello pbff and thank you for taking the trouble to get in touch. I have, since my post, purchased Polystichum munitum, Polystichum polybepharum and Dryopteris erythrosora. The first two for their evergreen quality and height and the third for the fact that the bronze fronds will tone with the border. I'm looking forward to seeing how they look in a few months time. I'm getting quite drawn to ferns and am enjoying referring to the ebps website. jandh
Lovely choices @jekylandhide. I have both Polystichum polyblepharum and Dryopteris erythrosa and love them both. If you like those two, then you'll probably also like Dryopteris wallichiana, which is one of my very favourites. It has lovely golden croziers and then the fronds, which are tall and architectural without taking up loads of space, have lovely soft black hairy scales. It is very striking. Glad that you're finding the BPS website useful! All the best. pbff
