Sit on mower

We want to purchase a John Deere X590 or X584, but unfortunately the whole of the 500 range has lateral discharge and I would like to remove the clippings

My question is, how important is it to remove the clippings

I guess there is a way to adapt the mower but I don't like add- ons and the mower is expensive enough anyway

I have a John Deere X155R and it's the biggest pile of plap I've ever bought.( £3,500 worth of plap )

If the ground is bowling green level, and the grass is absolutely bone dry, and it's no more than about 2" long it'd be fine.

However those conditions do not exist in my N. Devon , very soggy , garden on a slope.

I wish I'd gone with my instinct and bought a Honda.

I'd not buy a mower which ONLY discharged the grass unless you're going to cut it every few days. If it's " lawn" it'll look terrible, and if it's rough grass, it'll probably look terrible too. IMHO

    Devon.
