white moths flying above lawn last year

I had a lot of small white moths flying above my lawns last year
At the same time the lawns lost a lot of green leaf and developed large patches of dead grass
has anyone else had the same problem ?
i researched a little and if it is web worm then i could only find a bacterial control called Xentari
Has anyone tried this and if so how did you apply it ?

Our local bat colonies seem very happy to take as many moths, midges, mosquitoes and chafers as they can get their teeth into ... if insects are causing a problem in the garden cultivate your natural predators a and they will help you create a natural balance.
