It looks a bit like my Cephalaria gigantea, but that has pale yellow flowers ... don't know if there are similar plants with different coloured flowers ...?

Thanks for the picture, it's definitely not Scabiosa. It now looks more like Phacelia Tanacetifolia. Not totally sure as flowers not fully opened.
Those are fully opened flowers. They are tiny and before the flowers bloomed, the head looked some what like a broccoli.
On reflection and now that I'm able to zoom in I tend to agree with Borderline's suggestion of Phacelia.
It's often included in mixes of seeds for pollinators.

I googled Phacelia Tanacetifolia. They look quite similar to my plant.
