Daphne X Transatlantica (Eternal Fragrance)
in Plants
Hi Guys,
I was hoping to get some advice - last year I bought a Daphne x Transatlantica ‘Eternal Fragrance’, however I’ve not really settled on where to put it - the fact they don’t like root disturbance means I want to get it right first time.
I’m beginning to think about putting it in a pot - does anyone have any experience of growing it in a container and if so, what sort of size would it need?
Any advice or tips would be much appreciated!

Sounds like an interesting shrub you've acquired last year and according to the above is eminently suited for pot culture .
Would be a fine complement to a large terracotta pot allowing for its modest growth ; one of those large ornamental sort sold at garden centres .
Mine has been in a pot for several years, through all the winters unscathed. Can't remember if I've ever given it any protection. I get about 3 flushes of blooms throughout the summer from late Spring to Sept or so..
I have mine on a raised patio which means it's at nose level when I walk past on the path below, which is appropriate.. the scent does waft a little but you need to be close.. or stick your nose into it..
It makes an attractive evergreen without flowers, a rounded shrub. I've repotted it just the once I think..
Easy and trouble free, but it's not eternal blooming...there are long gaps.. I'll try and find a photo for you later..
Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated.
