The image shown is quite a large container. Can anyone guess whether the Bowles Mauve at the back of the container is likely to be a single plant, or several planted together?
My plants admittedly in a border easily grew to 3 feet wide. If you intend this to be a permanent planting of the Bowles then one would suffice. If it's just for the summer maybe 2-3 the plant doesn't really get going in year one in my experience. Those pots were lovely as were many others I too saw them at Harlow Carr.
Thanks both. As stated, it was Harlow Carr....going to try and replicate a couple of containers like this, maybe with some winter bulbs either with, or before...further suggestions welcome to make the container work hard!
