Pruning an inherited Lavender hedge

Hello, we moved into a new house in January in the Cotswolds. The last time we saw it the Lavender hedge was in full bloom, but appears not to have been pruned after flowering as all the dried flower heads are still present.  Do I prune it now or wait till later in the year?

You can do it now as long as no frost is forecast.  Cut off all the flowering stems going about an inch into the leafy bits at their base.

  • Thank you. Is it just if no frost is forecast for a few days Or would it need longer?

Just a few days so any wounds heal before frost gets in and expands and breaks the cells open, thus enabling infection to enter.
