We were drying washing outside up until just before Xmas Pat.  Takes forever indoors on the airer since then so I can only do one wash every couple of days.  Good job I'm not a mum with lots of small people running around getting mucky.

I love the 30s  as long as it's not humid.    Done any more painting or drawing lately?

Not really, Obelixx. The lavender harvest knocks me out every year. It’s hard on my back as well as my fingers, but I can’t keep putting it off or they will drop on the ground. Sometimes I wonder how long I’ll be prepared to keep doing it.

Morning all. Chilly but sunny here.

Just getting ready for a charity event called the "Big Welsh Brew", for our local hospice. We have a reflexology and massage therapist to treat us, plus plenty of tea and cake. I made Welsh Cakes with my neiece so will be taking those and a lovely bunch of Daffodils in memory of my Mum.

I'm sure about the reflexology bit...let you know!

I hope you are all well. I must say I have a sore throat - so if it develops into full lurgy I will be mighty miffed!

    Have a great day everyone.

My garden and I live in South Wales.
  • Been a nice sunny morning but cold, washed and disinfected all the seed trays now so sowing can start.

But first its a stroll to the local for lunch. image    image

Hi Every one I have been catching up on Jan and Feb forkers as my competer stopped working and until grandaughter on holiday from china sorted it out I was lost. I see you are talking about Rugby I was born in the town Rugby and had to walk passed the school where it started. We have just booked to go and see the Dark Hour on Wednesday, and we have seen Dunkirk and the Viceroy, i We have had a little drop of rain and our day to run out is August but they only say that at the moment, every one is looking to Cape Town as they will run out in April. Like you Pat we are in the 30c and as we can not water our gardens we just watch all plants dying. Hope Punk Doc is feeling better and i love the snow in Moscow.

OH says they're forecasting snow here on Tues and Wed!  The dogs wik love it but not the pussies.

Glenys - good to see you.  Hope your PC is stable now.

Pat - if the enjoyment you get from the harvest outweighs the effort then carry on.  If not, stop and just enjoy the flowers as long as they last on  the plants.

  • I've been having a little reminisce reading old correspondence amongst a group of us who were all responsible for our Aged Parents at the same time ...it's amazing what some of them got up to from time to time imageimage

Now supper is in the oven ... belly of pork with sage and apple stuffing is roasting along with some potatoes ... carrots are cooking to be glazed with honey later ... spring greens are prepped ... then there's just the Yorkshire puds and cider gravy to make image

Snow is forecast here too. I've just filled up the horses' water bins in case the tap freezes.

I last had belly of pork when I was 16, it was horribly fatty, great white lumps of it in a stew. Is it nice roasted? Does the fat melt away? Haven't dared try it since, OH and I hate pieces of fat.

Tonight I'm having the last bit of confit de canard (duck) and OH is having a beef and ale pie (from the freezer) with beans and broccoli Romanesco.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
