Jasmine/Clematis on Arches
I’ve never grown anything on an arch before so this may be a silly question but…
can plants like Jasmine Trachelospermum or Clematis “Winter Beauty” cover an arch by growing ‘downwards’ on the other side from where they are planted? …
I have just bought an arch but unfortunately I can only plant in the ground on one side - there are stone tiles on the other side. If this sounds like a bad idea it may be possible to put a large pot on the other side but I was hoping to avoid the pot-scenario if possible.
(In case it's helpful to know, the arch itself is 2 meters tall by 1.4 meters wide and is one of those minimalist metal types.)
Any thoughts / advice much appreciated…
