    Snowballs in North London!

Well ok yes it's a Viburnum with a Ceanothus underneath.

I do love the fresh foliage this time of  year :)

I do love that Viburnum, looks gorgeous. We had a large tree that basically collapsed a couple of years ago. I thought it was a gonner and chopped it to the base. Two years later and its back to a huge mass of snowballs again. It doesnt last long but its a spectacular display whilst it is out

    2 more tree peonies - a bit rain-damaged though.

Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

Yvie, I hadn't even noticed the neighbours' extension because my eye was drawn by your lovely shed, trellis & clematis.   :)
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Thanks @2oaktrees officially Acers are supposed to be in ericacious soil but I usually just use JI-3 with a about 25% MPC and extra grit to stop compaction & waterloging.  In his book on Acers Niel Kenney of Larchfield trees says you should use 50:50 MPC and composted bark or soil improver. Only one of the two in that pic is in a pot the red one is in the soil. We feed with a liquid fertilizer, it is important not to overpot Acers.
If you like those here are some more.
