BFB is pretty much ok for all plants. It's broken down slowly in the soil so a light dressing raked in in the spring will last the season. The non-organic alternative is Growmore and the like
Both are also fine for roses, but there are rose-specific feeds available - e.g. Toprose

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
Just been reading through the last few posts. All very helpful. A neighbour of mine use to use chicken pellets and swore by them so I may give it a go this year. Have heard many good things about BFB too although the last thing I want to do is introduce more foxes into our garden!

Thanks Pete8.....what are chicken manure pellets used for or are they the same as BFB?
Chicken pellets are of course organic and are another alternative. Different manures will give slightly different levels of the main nutrients NPK
Some info here will help

Thanks I'm not sure if I need to buy one or the other or both
Whichever you prefer Mary - they all do roughly the same thing

Imight be wrong, but didn't the Bone meal element of BEB get left out after the BSE problems...?
