Photinia Red Robin

Can anyone tell me why my Photinia on one side has turned red on all the leaves. None of them has dropped off, still looks healthy. The rest of the shrub  still looks good. It is about 12-15 years old and stands about 5'. I have searched all my gardening books but can find no mention of this problem (if it is a problem).

New growth is red. Is the side that has turned red getting more sun or in a warmer environment that the side which hasn't? We have some new growth coming through in this relatively mild winter we are having on the south coast.

Did you prune certain sections of this shrub late last year? Maybe it is new growth as Dave Humby suggests. Usually only new growth shows the red leaves. It's very rare for red leaves on over-wintered evergreen leaves on this shrub, unless it's a really dark almost purple red, which could just be a sign of stress with the conditions over winter time, which will eventually correct itself. Maybe post a photo, it does seem interesting if it's old leaves.
