Quess what Santa brought me?

nothing to do with gardening but I wanted to share my joy,

at last I’m getting a new knee today, just off to hospital.

oh the joy in knowing I should be able to resume my gardening this summer.

sorry it’s not garden related but anyone who has been in my position I know will understand.

Good luck Chrissy. A lot of operations like that have been cancelled in our area due to pressure on the wards, so I hope yours goes OK.  Physio will take a while , but you should be back in the garden for summer. image

Good luck with that Chrissy.  You should be up and about in a day or so and doing lots of physio if friends who've had it done are anything to go by.  Good timing really.

Definitely garden related too.  Helps too have a functioning knee.

Best of luck Chrissy image  Looking forward to hearing that you're out in the garden again before too long. I know of some very successful new knees.

I’m so pleased for you Chrissy! I had mine done last April and it has transformed my  life. I can now walk and garden happily without pain. rehabilitation is hard but the benefits are so positive,  just keep in mind all the gardening you’ll be able to enjoy pain free! Good luck!! X

Well done!  Glad it's gone well so far ...best wishes for a really good recovery ....... make sure you do exactly as you are told ... someone that Wonky and I know well thought that he knew better and overdid things, ending up in hospital very poorly indeed so DO AS YOU ARE TOLD! imageimage

My brother-in-law had a hip replacement and he didn't follow instruction.  Stopped using crutches because he could get around without them.  Didn't do as much walking as he was supposed to etc, etc.  He is now suffering the consequences as he has sciatica and back pain which his doctor says is a direct result of not following instruction.

His brother has had the same surgery, is now onto a single walking stick, walks miles and has virtually no pain.

Moral - do as the doc and physioterrorists tell you as they really do know best.
