hello, I'm a design student who is investigating common problems that people face with indoor gardening. I am wondering what are the common issues that people face with small scale indoor gardening with regard to gardening tools?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I am targeting people who have limited space, such as growing produce (herbs, vegetables, fruit) in window sills and tables. I wanted to know what stages people struggle with - such as ,mess when planing seeds, harvesting the produce or removing the plant from the pot without getting soil everywhere. The more specific the problem the better.
Mess..... a newspaper or a tray over the sink works well. What do you think you could market that would do the job better?
My biggest problem is not enough windowsills ....... but not sure how you can fix that

What we all actually need is a gardener's Tardis with warmth and good lighting.
You start with one little pot of seeds, prick them out into a tray, then they need individual pots, then bigger pots... Each stage demands more space.
Even those of us lucky enough to have greenhouses, find they are sadly not elastic

Me too Joyce, it would be better if these college bods would tell us what they want to design and let us comment on that. Do they ever have anything in their minds when they ask for these surveys.
