Greenhouse Destroyed in storm-anyone know of any second-hand greenhouses for sale around south-east

Hello,

only one year ago I spent £300 on a greenhouse. I went for one of those aluminium and plastic ones as I was on a tight budget. Despite it being weighted down a couple of weeks ago it was destroyed in the storm.

This was the second time the wind had gotten to it-the first time it warped it but I managed to get it back into shape.

this time it took to the air and is completely destroyed. I definitely would not recommend them as this was weighted down and in a sheltered spot.  sadly a horrible waste of money.

Very upsetting as I definitely cannot afford a new one and I loved my new addition to the garden and in fact was planning  to use it much more this year!

I'm wondering if anybody knows of a  second-hand traditional greenhouse (i.e. glass)  that's in decent condition, for sale around south-east London or Kent? Or near to those areas.

Thanks so much!! image

Oh what a shame!  image  I hope you get another one very soon ... have you tried Gumtree, Freecycle and the Nextdoor websites?

Sometimes eBay, it’s usually buyer dismantles but you could be lucky.

As Dove says, Freecycle may be worth a try, especially if you check areas around your local one as well.

Look in local papers and advert boards, too. Older people often use these if they are unsure about the internet. In my area - not near you, I am afraid, you sometimes get them free or very cheap on a 'buyer dismantles' deal.

  • Hello,

yes I've had a look at those websites but they tend to usually be quite bad condition but having a look in the papers is actually a good idea. Thanks :-)

Lyn is right. You will need to work dismantling but if willing, you could get a bargain.
