Clay soil

hi all, newbie, 

we have just had are garden lowered for land drainage to go in.

drains in, now just left with clay, do I try and level it out the best I can and then put my top soil on or mix in top soil..

    I'm not sure.  If you are not getting much response here try Radio 4's GQT?  Sounds like an expert question.  I guess it would be ideal to mix in some other substance but I guess it depends on the amount of work you are prepared to do and the cost.

    Sounds like a major project. Can you post a picture?

    Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.
