Cleaning Wild Tillandsia

I recently returned home to Trinidad and Tobago from college in Canada and have been noticing a lot of Wild Tillandsia on the trees around my yard, and since being introdue to the Northern air plant culture, I’ve grown a liking to them and too care of many while abroad I though Id try to do the same here.
Now I am just wondering what I can do to clean off all the little pests and moss that maybe on them. Any suggestions?
