Intricate sums it up, It’s all corners, and bedding and trees with one really annoying rubble filled bank. Nowhere near large enough for a ride on - most of the work is in strimming and I’m really glad I am not the poor sod who has to do it.
how big is your lawn learnincurve? Once a fortnight! I cut our lawn every 3 days, it grows that quick, not so worried about the edges. We used to have quarter acre garden, it took me an hour with a petrol mountfield to cut just the lawn nearest the house, when I told a work colleague she asked if I used nail scissors, (she had a concrete patch about 30 ft by 30ft) Not so big now, probably 100 feet long by 30 wide, less flower beds.Unfortunately got an electric mower, Hubby wont let me have a petrol one! With 2 dogs and grandkids I am not fussy, about weeding or feding.
They really are. It's much easier to maintain 100m2 of lawn than 100m2 mixed gravel/shrub bed/patio or whatever. A 10 min cut every 2-3 weeks. Job done. No weeding.
I am with B3 on this one. When we first moved in here (the house had been rented before) the grass was almost fence to fence, very uneven full of weed & moss. Took me 40 min plus every week just to do back with a petrol mower had to empty the box 3-4 times. Now the rear garden has deep shrub borders that are well mulched. Most things only need pruning or cutting back once a year, bit of tidying. Still have lawns front & back can do both with one emptying of grass box 15-20 min for both includes bringing mower up steps to get round to front and reverse to put away again. I am working on the idea of getting rid of the front lawn completely.
I'd do that in under 20 mins, edged up neatly and striped cut, but not with a flymo. Does your gardener charge by the hour by any chance? I have one, for example, that's around 500m2 of lawn, three different lawns and 8-9 beds. This takes me 40 minutes from parking up the van to starting the key to go to the next job. Yours looks like it might be 200m2?
No duck, my gardener charges £15 each visit and that includes doing next door’s horror show of a hedge. It’s the nightmare bank and in front of the shed that takes the time. The bank is all builders rubble and absolutely treacherous to climb up. In front of the shed what someone has done is put down two concrete strips, which have broken up, then they tried to fix it by putting two strips of tarmac down
I seem to be the only gardener in my street. Most neighbours keep their gardens neat and tidy but flowerless. The woman directly next door to me does absolutely nothing with her garden. It is full of weeds and up until last October was full of huge amounts of rubbish...so bad it brought rats and they ended up in my house, which made me quite ill. The council came and cleared it all and I know its just going to be the same this year. Its not as if she is not able ,she is fit and healthy .Why live like that ,just move to a flat . At the other end of my street is my garden buddy Andy, he loves the garden but didn't know much about it so I give him advice and loads of cutting from my garden and we help each other out. Its such a joy to see how his garden has come on and how much he loves it. I plant a whole side of my own garden with bee friendly plants and enjoy watching all sorts bees and butterflies come in the summer.

What size is the lawn, m2? I do a hundred different lawns each fortnight and have worked on several hundred more over the years.
Same here, it's my main income come spring plus other gardening works. Biggest job I've have ever done is 3 rugby pitches. Mowed and treated.

In answer to the questions Garden as it Is now, next week three more borders are going in.
Try doing that in 20 mins with a flymow lol.
