How about Sheep?? - I'm not joking, offering your services as a Fosterer to the local Farm may well solve the lawn problem, and think of the joys of filling your freezer with all that lovely lamb. I have a friend who has successfully taken on 2 lambs every year and a retired ewe -Free lawn mowing and free meat.
Thanks all. I think I'll leave the compost on the grass in one area whilst considering a meadow there later. Collect it in the family area and freecycle it.
Kent near the white cliffs. Always learning and often the hard way.
Oh options exhausted and such a waste! - Had you thought of offering local horticultural college project of turning your garden into a design project that would suit you and educate them?

"Compost them and use them" - Got nothing to put it on Mike. No veg. No flowers.
Too time consuming looking after them when you have two jobs.
Thanks. I thought about animals, but they come with poo and vet bills.
