Help me Identify Mystery Seed!

Hey!

I am a new member and looking for some help. I ordered some Sakura seeds online and when they came, I'm not sure if they are Sakura.

imageHere you can see them in the bowl for stratification. The black ones are the alleged Sakura ones...are they?

Bonus Quest; The other seeds are maple, right? Right?

There are many Prunus trees somewhat vaguely known as 'Sakura' ; also there are a large number of maple trees spread around our planet .

Colloquial and common names don't always mean a lot to people that grow plants ; best to use the proper botanical names if possible .

    Helps with ID .

     Thanks for helping!

If it helps, the seeds for maple are supposed to be Japanese Red Maple and Japanese Green Maple.

I really don't know the scientific name for the Sakura seeds. That's why was asking if they resemble some variety anyone has seen or not.
