New Garden unknown plant !

Hi

moved into a new house and trying to identify the plants in the garden.  Difficult at this time of year but this is an evergreen so hoping someone might help?it is a couple of feet tall.imageimage?image

    Looks to me like acanthus.   If your soil is poor they produce tall stems of hooded flowers but if not, all they do in my experience is produce loads of leaf and spread.

    Looks like acanthus to me too ... hedgehogs love to snuffle and lurk under clumps of acanthus, so good ground cover in wilder bits of the garden. image


    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
