Just seen on Breakfast TV BBC1, the "latest" in shopping, you put in an app on your smart phone, there is no-one serving in the sotre, but not your usual self-service, you put the bag with ALL your shopping on the slab at once, it scans everything instantly, gives your toal toal you pay with your smart phone. Apart from probably putting a huge amount of people out of work, my Huby and I dont have smart phones, I dont like them, the amount of time people spend on their phones, and couldnt afford them anyway. Less and less human interaction, not good! A funny thing happened yesterday, I sent an e-mail to Harpic because I bought a box of their antiscale stuff for the loo, the packing was 100% bigger than the product, I wrote and told them it was a waste, they wrote to me by my correct name, BUT the letter was written by someone called NANNY B, what are the odds!!!
That’s not how hacking works lol. I really don’t know where to begin debunking this particular myth, it started with fearmongering by anti-virus people in the late 90s, Who were, big shock, trying to sell you anti-virus. Just don’t use the same email/username/password combination on every website and you will be fine duck.
Hubby always uses the self service tills at supermarkets but there's always someone there to help if he runs into trouble. He always uses online banking now, but sometimes has to pay in money at the bank.
I've got a smart phone, that's what i'm using now, wouldn't be without it.
If I am doing a large shop I use the scan as you shop so that I don’t need to empty everything on to the till and repack. If I just have a few items I use a till with a cashier as I like the personal interaction with a real live person rather than self scan.
i don’t internet back as if we don’t use our bank branches we are going to lose them. Plenty of the smaller branches have already gone. My bankle has only 2 branches left which are easy for me to get to. The first one I can walk to if needed (a little over a mile away) the other I would need to drive to, pay parking and then walk into town.
i can understand why for some internet banking is the easiest way but if everyone switched over then you could say goodbye to high street banks.

That is very wise advise but the main problem seems to be with the phishing emails and people thinking they are from the genuine company.
it would be nice if there were more places or people available to give help to people so they know the dangers and pitfalls.
