@Liriodendron We haven't been away together since we moved here apart form one long weekend when the cats were kittens and we took them with us.  The dogs went into kennels just up the road - next door but one but almost 1km away.

Maybe adopt an older cat whose owner has died?  Do they have that kind of refuge near you?

  • I don't know, @Obelixx, but I'd be surprised if there isn't a refuge somewhere around.  Fostering might be another possibility... but we need to leave it a bit anyway - it's too soon to make a decision yet.  In the meantime I'll be searching out neighbouring cats in need of a stroke.   :)

Just catching up.  Very sorry @Liriodendron 😢😢😢
  • Thanks, @chicky.   :)

Just noticed I haven't passed on my thanks to @AnnaB.  Vera was indeed beautiful to us, though maybe not to others... hardly any teeth and a kinky tail, but a truly lovely nature.

  • @Liriodendron So sorry to hear of the loss of your beautiful Vera. They are so precious to us, and she was so lucky to have you as her family. Sending my thoughts and love from a cat lover also.

@Liriodendron   Thoughts are with you.  I, like you decided that Big Joe would be the last cat for exactly the same reasons, but I do miss that epitome of warmth that cats bring.

A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

  • Thank you, @Jacqueline29.   :)

And to you, @tui34.  Vera loved cuddles, and sleeping on my pillow next to my nose...  I may need a hot water bottle this coming winter!

  • A warning message to any of you cat owners.
I sent for "Itch" flea pipettes a month ago,it was a free sample which although they asked the weight of my cats did not work in the slightest.
Thismorning I see they have taken another £13 from my account.
It was done by Pay Pal. The postage was £3.99 for 2 Pipettes.
Now have to try and cancel the whole thing. Be very wary.

Thanks @Alan Clark2 in Liverpool.  I've never heard of that award but some are just brilliant.  Love the fat politicians and cinema odour studies.
