😂 . Funny I just read back a few pages and realized last time I posted I still had a cat of my own! Have to admit I miss the cats but the neighbors seem to abandon theirs and she definitely prefers life in my place.
Marne la vallée, basically just outside Paris 🇫🇷, but definitely Scottish at heart.
She’s gorgeous, lovely colours. i don’t know if I put on here that I’d lost my big ginger cat Thomas back in March. he died peacefully at home so no vet stress. we are so pleased that Ashley wandered into out garden at about 3 months old, he’s nearly two now and is the most lovely natured cat we could wish for.
Here’s when he was a baby.
Just as my OH took this picture he woke up, yawned and stretched.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
I lost my beloved Eric in July 2019 - 10 weeks before his 22nd birthday. I haven’t had the courage to adopt another cat since (also more difficult due to covid).
Last week I was accepted by our local Cats Protection Centre as a foster mother for cats waiting to be re-homed. I’m busy with their on-line training and getting my spare bedroom ready for my first arrivals in a few weeks time 😍. Wish me luck !
Wow that’s exciting. Let us know when you get them. I can’t get my head around the emptiness in the house. It’s all very well having next doors as a visitor but I miss the relationships I have had over the years with cats that have grown up with us. We have agreed to have a couple of “years off” as we don’t have anyone around to cover for vacations at the moment. I am wondering if I can hold out that long!

@Jacquimcmahon. How can someone not adore that beautiful cat, almost a blue tortie, they have such a good temperament. Lovely cats everyone. @ERICS MUM. That is a lovely thing you are doing,as you get older you realise the cats can outlive you 😊 so I will be doing the same as you,and fostering. So many are being abandoned in my area. Just kind people in the street keeping them fed and watered. One lady has bought a kennel to shelter her abandoned one. Its still very feral, but she plods on patiently with him.
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
I know Valleygardener I just don’t understand how people can get an animal (any animal), then basically behave as if they have no responsibility towards it. I think they have been away since Friday as no windows have been open. The cat has basically spent all of this past week either on my terrace or following me around.
When our own cat died I donated her bed, box, litter tray etc to the shelter… needless to say I have had to get new tray and food for “little one”, her name is Tokyo, but she never answers to it!
