Sweetcorn

Hi All, Not been on since last year so , Happy 2018 ! Just need some advice please? Can i grow sweetcorn in the same bed twice in two years? It did well in the metre square box i did it in last year Connie

    Yes, it shouldn't be a problem to grow it in the same bed ... I would dig in some well-rotted manure in the spring to add nutrients and aid water retention as corn is a thirsty plant ... glad it did well last year. ... fingers crossed for this year image

    Hi Dove, Thankyou for your help, yes I have fed my beds already with some consentrated feed from Marshalls , Connie

    Feed (fertiliser) is fine, but adding organic matter like manure will improve the structure of the soil, attract worms and useful invertebrates and improve the water retention so the soil doesn't dry out.
