Limbs lowering on a flowering cherry tree

We have a beautiful flowering cherry tree next to our patio and every year we notice that the lowest branches seem to get lower (not bending).  Over the last two months we have now seen a branch that we could walk under is now only about two feet from the ground.  Again, the branch is not bending.  Is is possible for a tree to sink?

I'm finding it hard to visualise this ... could you post some photos of the tree please.

To upload photos start with the camera icon ... If they don't appear try reducing the size of the pics.

I'd like to see a photo as well, maybe 2 photos, before and after.

Trees don't sink but branches get longer and heavier every year

What's the height where the branch grows out from the trunk of the tree?
