dtaggart1975, I'm glad it's resolved for you. I had a look again, and it still looks like grass to me, but a bulb is a bulb. As Mike says, Couch grass runs through an underground system of joint up roots. Wait to see if it is Muscari bulbs. There are so many spring bulbs with very fine leaves, but due to the timings, it's more likely to be Muscaris. They can naturalise all over the place, especially in good free draining soil.
