Gledista pruning

Hi All, any suggestions for pruning a Gledista which I have had for about 4 years now 7ft high but the branches are quite long and I think it needs some structure, however dont want to kill it. One of my favorite trees. thank youimage

It's a personal choice whether you feel your tree needs re-shaping. But if you feel it is too long in the branches, you can prune and shape anytime now up to late spring. Especially if you live somewhere that has snow-fall in winter time, it might be useful to shorten some branches. Provided it is looking well, a yearly shape/prune wouldn't kill your tree. I agree it is a lovely graceful tree that has a light canopy. Would love to see more of these trees in public.
