Plant ID please

Hi there, does anyone know what this grass like plant is that has appeared through my borders? Just want to check before removing it. Thanks

  • Looks a bit like wild garlic/white bluebells to me. Do the stems/leaves smell like garlic if you snap or crush them?

Looking at the patch, I doubt there are bulbs with that thatch. Looks quite like Couch Grass. You need to really get in there and dig it all out. Any breakages, they will return.

  • Same here, looks like couch grass, it's a proverbial pain in the backside. Dig it out deep and remove all roots but it will still survive, somehow

  • If you discover that there are small bulbs underground, I wonder if it is some variety of small flowered allium? They often grow into clumps and come up looking like blades of grass before flowering.

It wouldn't be grape hyacinth (Muscari) leaves would it?  I have a patch that look a bit similar to that.

I may well be wrong though.
