Tulip bulbs showing already

image

I planted my tulip bulbs in early September. They are coming through already. Should I give them another thin layer of compost? I'm a bit bothered as we have had a few sharp frosts and you can see a couple of the actual bulbs.

Frost wont damage tulips, maybe extreme cold. They are up early for tulips, I got daffs up but no tulips.

  • Thanks Perki. Yes, very early, I'm sure I didn't see any last year until Feb. Snowdrops are budding too and daffs are appearing. Oooh, I am bursting for spring ?

Some of my tulips have been up for a couple of weeks now, along with the daffodils, snowdrops and hyacinths.

Tulips need planting very deep, around 6” so perhaps they are not down far enough?
