I'm new to seed swap but am loving the idea. Can someone tell me how it works, what does PM mean and how do you message someone? I have heaps of seeds left over but many are now past best before dates. If only I'd known about this sooner??

Hi Clair57, welcome to the seed swap. PM means personal message, if you click on the persons name that you want to message you will be taken to a new page and a message icon will be in the top right. Members post what seeds they have spare and you can contact them. Most members post out seeds free as they will probably also get some in return from either yourself or another member. Some will ask for a stamped address envelope. You’ll soon figure out how it works, it’s pretty informal and most folks prefer it that way. It’s best if seed is within date though. Have fun, it’s a great opportunity to try something new.

  • I will have geum seeds available in a month or two - Mrs Bradshaw - red flower, Cooky - orange flower, Lady Stratheden - yellow flower and Water Avens  or Rivale is a sort of dusky pink flower.  All the flowers are loved by the bees and the plants are perennials and easy to grow. Message me if interested.

I have two small comfrey plants if anyone can use them.  They are Bocking 14, the sterile strain, they flower but don't set seed.  They are in 4" pots.

I can vouch for @Guernsey Donkey2. Mrs Bradshaw seeds, mine have been fantastic this year.

  • Thanks Lyn, I am pleased that you have had good results with the seeds.  I am just sending out two batches to forum members this year, although I have plenty more if anyone else would like them.  The bees love the flowers and they are good, hardy perennials.
